When he was a very young child, Evan Jameson believed in angels. He thought they were watching out for him, protecting more than merely his innocence, he thought they would stop bad people from doing bad things to him. As he got older, he started to believe in monsters. Seeing them each day as they cruelled their way through his formative years, he realised angels were not looking out for him after all. Despite the sun searing images of his childhood nightmares into his mind, Evan managed to hide them from his conscience, never gazing upon them until he was older and his first child was born. Even then, it was not until he felt the first urge to cruel his baby son that he began to search for reasons why he would want to do that. What he revealed when he gazed into his dark past, was not only the reason why he could become a monster, but also the reason why he awakened each day wanting to end his life.

Neophyte

Evan Jameson travels to Dublin to meet Emily Cullen, an American poet he met online while searching for brutal imagery. Together, they plan on killing a man who abducted Emily and held her captive for four days; a man Emily calls the Monster. As they wait for him to arrive, they decide to live differently, following no one’s rules but their own.

Their new life means they do not pay for anything with money, unless it is money they have stolen or tricked out of other people’s pockets. When they meet Mr. X, whose house they have turned into a squat, he introduces them to another kind of life, a life where Evan finds himself watching Emily have sex with other men.

As each day passes by and their encounter with the man who abducted Emily approaches, Evan begins to understand how easy it is to slip into the mind of a monster. How easy it is to become a monster...

Neophyte is a dark novel with scenes of both a violent and sexual nature. Using themes of fantasy, obsession, mortality and the supernatural, Eli Wilde and ‘Anna DeVine join forces to create a sinister, chilling read.

Strangers in Paradise is a trilogy of stories set in England, USA and Ireland. The first part of the trilogy, Cruel, follows the story of Evan Jameson as he stops believing in angels when monsters come to call.

Four Days tells the story of clairvoyant, Emily, who is abducted by a monster and brutally subjected to his will.

Neophyte sees Emily and Evan meeting up in Dublin, ready to kill the monster who ruined her life, only to discover how easy it is for one of them to become the monster they both hate.

Strangers in paradise is not for every reader. It's a dark read with images of animal cruelty, abduction and physical and mental torture. In fact, it will likely be read by only a small readership as was intended by the authors. Why write such stories, you may ask? It's a good question. The only answer is that the stories demanded to be written. Just like a bad dream demands to enter your nighttime slumber, it just can't be put off.

The trilogy was first published in 2013 by Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing. Although it has since been revised in the new edition, the main story arcs and character development follow the same path. Neophyte has been cut down substantially, though, to bring it more in line with the sparse style of the first two books. The book covers have been replaced since the trilogy has been re-published by amazing illustrator - Anton Semenov.

Cruel

Cruel is a dark coming-of-age story where the protagonist changes from an innocent child into the sum of his childhood nightmares.

When he was a child, Evan Jameson thought angels were looking out for him. His belief in angels changed when he first went to school, where he stopped believing in angels and started believing in monsters.

Seeing bullies brutalise their way through his formative years changed Evan. Depression changed Evan. Eventually, his mental health made him think he did not have to care what people thought about him. Being on the edge of society meant nothing could harm him.

As school ended, Evan’s coming to age sped up. He grew stronger both physically and mentally, and the bullies in his workplace were no match for the monster walking in Evan’s shoes.

Later, when he found Morris and his wife Denise, they taught him another lesson. A lesson where one man's wife could become a new friend's lover, but only if she followed her husband's instructions whenever friend and wife met.

Although Cruel is part of a trilogy, each book is written as a standalone story so they can be read as individual books.

Four Days

Four Days is a dark story about a psychopath who abducts a clairvoyant.

Weirdos were always attracted to Emily Cullen. There had always been an allure. Freakish moths drawn to some kind of light she oozed. From an early age it was a light she wished she could switch off.

The monster was different.

He was weird, but he was also insanely bold. His attraction to Emily was boundless, just like his love for her. Love fuelled by psychopathic tendencies and meth head mentality.

He had planned the abduction meticulously, right down to the clothes she would wear, the pornography she would watch and the rules she would obey. Emily knew something bad was about to happen, but her friends and family didn't believe her. Just like they never believed her when she told them about the dead people she saw, the ones attracted to her since she first came into this world.

Although Four Days is part of a trilogy, each book is written as a standalone story so they can be read as individual books.
